Clinical Study of Afloqualone (Arofuto^(¢ç)) in Patients with Spastic Paralysis due to CNS Damage



Abstract
30 patients with spastic paralysis due to CNS damage were evaluated clinically, administering with 60mg of Afloqualone per day during 4 weeks in the department of Rehabilitation &. Internal Medicine, Kyung Hee Medical,Center.
The results were summarized as follows;
1) The over all improvement of subjective symptoms was 53.3% in 2 weeks and 74. 0% in 4 weeks and that of objective signs was 56.7% in 2 weeks, and 77.8% in 4 weeks, which shows that the longer they were administered, the better their symptoms & signs were improved.
The improvement of [Tightness and Rigidity of Muscle] showed the highest improvement rate (56%) among the items for subjective symptoms, and that of [Spasm of Lower Extremity] showed the highest, improvement rate (66%) among the items for objective signs.
2) Total improvement rate, the subjective & objective findings, was 73.3% including slight improvement, which, showed good result.
3) Safety rate including possible in administration was 90%, 3 among 30 patients complained of significant sleepiness, weakness, anorexia, & heaviness. For the rest of the patients, significant side effect was not developed.
4) Usefulness rate was 73.3%, which showed good result.
Upon the results, Afloqualone was seems to be useful drug for spastic paralysis due to CNS damage.
